Meeting Overview

On behalf of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, we are pleased to invite you to the 2016 Atlanta Cancer Symposium: Engaging the Experts in Immunotherapy, to be held at the Westin Buckhead Atlanta on Friday, August 26, and Saturday, August 27, 2016. World renowned faculty will share their expertise during interactive sessions, and will present cutting-edge scientific advancements and treatment updates.

Abstract submission is now open. Topics include: immunotherapy; vaccines; clinical trials; genomics; biomarkers; immune modulation; and others.


Target Audience

This educational activity is specifically designed to meet the needs of practicing medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, specialists, pathologists, and oncology healthcare providers with an interest in immuno-oncology.

Learning Objectives

After successful completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate data from recent clinical trials on immunotherapies in order to make effective treatment decisions
  • Employ best practices in the management of patients undergoing immunotherapy, including treatment timelines, management of adverse effects, and treatment failure
  • Apply appropriate support services for patient needs
  • Discuss emerging therapies and treatment options

Cancellations/Substitutions Policy
The registration fee is nonrefundable. Substitutions will be accepted up to one week prior to the meeting date with written notice.

Exhibitor Package

The exhibit fee will allow one 6’ exhibit table and complimentary registration, including meals, for two company representatives for both days of the conference. Additional company representatives may register separately. Exhibit set up will be on Friday morning and should remain in place for the duration of the meeting. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the exhibits during breakfast each morning, at the morning breaks, and before and after the lunch session.

Additional representatives may attend for $300 a person ($500 after June 15)

Format Specifications:

  • Abstract title must not be more than 100 characters
  • Abstract must not be more than 250 words, including tables and graphs
  • Simple tables and graphs may be used only if they fit within the specifications

Headings: Each submission should include the following headings in bold:

  • Study Objective
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Key Word/s (up to three words)
  • Data presented at other meetings is acceptable, but if the presentation was made at an international meeting of more than 100 attendees, please indicate in the abstract that part or all of the material has also been presented, and the name and date of the meeting.

Instructions for Poster Presentations

All presentations, poster and video, will be displayed from 12.00 PM Friday, August 26, to 3.30 PM Saturday, August 27. Posters will be assigned a location number, and your letter of notification and the Final Program will specify your poster’s location number. Please hang your poster on the board marked with the corresponding number.

Posters may be placed on the appropriate boards on Friday, August 26th, between 10.00 AM and 1.00 PM.
You are not required to be present at your poster at any specific time. However, it is recommended you be available in the Abstract Hall during symposium breaks.

Posters must be removed by 4.30 PM on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 ACS is not responsible for removing or returning posters. Posters remaining on the boards after 4.30 PM on Saturday will be discarded.

Note: No materials advertising commercial interest, financial interest, or other relationships with manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, laboratory supplies, or medical devices should be posted. Additionally, commercial providers of medically related services or future medical meeting announcements should not be posted on the poster boards. The 2016 ACS staff reserves the right to remove any material that does not comply with this policy.

Your maximum poster dimensions are 44 inches high by 36 inches wide. If your poster is larger than these dimensions it may not be displayed. The poster board is 4 feet high and 8 feet wide. There will be two posters side by side with numbered locations.


Poster Example


The abstract title and authors’ names and affiliations should be on the top of your poster. The lettering for this section should be at least 1 inch (2.54 cm) high. All illustrations should be made beforehand. Illustrations must be readable from distances as far as 4 feet (1.2192 meters). Do not mount any part of the poster on heavy board; they may be difficult to keep in position on the poster boards. Pushpins and thumbtacks will be provided; however, if you require any special fastenings you must provide them. A suggested arrangement of a poster is illustrated to the left.


  • Provide a large heading containing the abstract title and name(s) of author(s) and author affiliations to identify your presentation easily.
  • Prepare and bring with you all illustrations needed for your presentation (figures, tables, schemes, equations, etc) if they are not printed on the poster.
  • Mount your poster with pushpins (thumbtacks) ONLY.
  • Please do not write or draw on the poster boards.
